This page focuses to highlight the changes that were made to Blue Mountain Elementary School in 2016, covering: the innovation center, the new classrooms, new offices, and much more.
Same as Eagle Crests 'Garage' Blue Mountain's Innovation Center focuses on teaching students the different uses technology can have. The Innovation Center can be used for everything from Sphero Compeitions to programing.
Fun fact, the Lynx on this garage door that opens to the library was created by a student at Blue Mountain!
Blue mountain had 7 classrooms added from the new wing. They had a net gain of 6 just like Eagle Crest, this is due to the new office taking up more space.
Both elementary schools had a classroom that only had one window which meant it didn't receive much natural light. Their solution to this was installing skylights that could be dimmed via a switch. These skylights look like normal panel lights that you would normally see in a classroom, with the benefit of natural light.
The design of the new wing allowed one of the old exterior walls in Blue Mountain to be used as an interior wall for one of their classrooms.
As a part of the new wing, Blue Mountain added a collaboration space for students. This space also serves as their green screen room!
Here is a collection of pictures that show some different angles of the classrooms in the new wing of Blue Mountain
